Hadrick Ranch Prairie Dinner



Late last fall we partnered with our friend from Vanguard Hospitality to put together an auction item that would support the Stockyards Ag Experience ini Sioux Falls, SD. It was a catered meal for six out here at our ranch that included wine pairings and lodging for the night. However, what it ended up being was an elite dining experience!


The evening started when our guests arrived and we took them on a short drive across the pasture to homemade bar overlooking Snake Creek and grazing cows. Tim Meagher, COO of Vanguard Hospitality, had a specially prepared cocktail to enjoy while taking in the vast open prairie and the changing leaves of the creek-bottom trees.







After taking in the prairie views it was time to dive into the 10 course, wine paired evening ahead. We had a specially prepared table in the pasture that included a spacious open tent with sunset views, cool lighting and a first peak at the menu.








As the first course started to roll out from Joshua Jackson, Vanguard's Director of Culinary Operations, and T. R. Fuentes McKenzie, Vanguard Executive Chef the magnitude of of how epic our evening was going to be started to set in. And the sunset started to get more brilliant along with the dining experience.








The chefs did the majority of their cooking over an open fire for this event. Everything from the berries to the tomahawk steaks saw an open flame wth amazing results.






As the evening progressed and the food kept getting better so did the sunset.







After 10 printed courses of food and two courses that the chef's suprised our guests with it was time to spend a few minutes by the campfire warming up against the chilly fall prairie air. It was the perfect ending to a perfect night of great food and fellowship.





It was a pleasure to watch our guests enjoying the beef we raised right on our ranch while they enjoyed the open prairie skies. Along with that it's also a great pleasure to watch the talented individuals from Vanguard Hospitality work their magic in the kitchen and over the fire.
